Monitoring baseline

Start with a record of what was actually measured.

The first eligible saved monitoring report provides a baseline for later comparisons. Its coverage is bounded by the crawl and the supported rule inventory.

What a baseline contains.

Public HTML crawl

HTTP responses, missing titles, descriptions and H1s, meta/header noindex instructions, and applicable robots rules on visited pages.

Homepage lab tests

Google PageSpeed Insights can provide separate mobile and desktop Lighthouse measurements for the configured website URL. Lab results are simulated tests; provider failure is DATA UNAVAILABLE.

Issue history

Saved reports compare supported findings with the previous report and the baseline. A page must have comparable collected evidence before a repair is counted as fixed.

Coverage limits. The paid crawl checks up to 250 public HTML pages on one assigned website. Pages that are blocked, unreachable or outside the crawl are not treated as passing. An observed noindex directive or robots rule does not prove Google’s actual index status.

What a baseline cannot establish.

Keyword rankings, competitors, backlinks, Google Business Profile, Search Console, GA4, call tracking and CRM data are NOT MEASURED by the current monitoring service. It does not submit forms, place calls, test hosting capacity or measure leads and revenue. Real-user CrUX data is not collected. PDF reports and daily checks are not available.

A baseline is not a complete inventory of every page or every SEO problem. An indexing directive is an observed instruction, not proof that Google has included or excluded the page.

Start with the evidence.

A limited public scan shows its measured coverage and any unavailable results.
